Anna Sommer Garden

The Champalimaud Centre for the Unknown has given back to the city ample gardened zones, which are open to the public and surround the buildings and run along the riverside. Perfectly integrated into the surrounding environment, these green spaces seek to give continuity, in total harmony, to the restoration of the riverside zone of the city.

Arriving at the Champalimaud Centre for the Unknown, one is received by the Anna Sommer Garden. A homage to the Founder’s mother, this vast green space, without borders or fences, was created to be enjoyed by everyone. The shadows cast by the trees provide shade, the stone paths guide the way, the greenery envelops and gives this place back to the public.
