Breast Cancer
Clinical Evaluation of a Calculated b Value Tool
Background:
Diffusion MRI is an established imaging modality for imaging workup of patients with breast cancer. In the current clinical practice, Radiologists are performing a qualitative evaluation of the signal intensities of malignant tissue on multiple b values (normal b0 and b1000). In several cases, image contrast on b1000 is not adequate to differentiate the exact extent of the lesion in relation to adjacent breast parenchyma.
Objectives:
Develop and clinically validate a software that can be used for accurate estimation of the actual extent of the lesion, as well as the relative changes before and after therapy.
Target Users:
Radiologists, Oncologists and Surgeons.
Implications for Patient Care:
Improve diagnosis and accurate assessment of treatment response.
